You need to know. T is our oldest, he's 13 and has had a pretty typical semi-rebellious childhood which occasionally includes not returning home when we've asked. W is our second - 11 still and not quite to that stage.
W asked recently to do something with a friend... a sleepover I believe... We've tried to get away from these because of the resultant crabbiness the next day from lack of sleep. So, we said No...
W's response? "We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for T's transgressions"
Bwa - hahahahahahahahahaha
but no, the answer was still no.
I love it. Our children are so witty!
ReplyDeleteWait till he's gone to Seminary and has memorized all the scripture mastery scriptures....you're in T-rouble! hahahaha!!
ReplyDeleteHe is uncomfortably bright. Like my kids. The glare hurts my eyes.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. Calla is the one who will play all weekend and then on Sunday during sacrament, or before church whine about being tired. Our rule no sleepovers on Saturday:D
ReplyDeleteOh my word that is HILARIOUS! I'd still go with your response, but wow, I completely agree with Heidi--bright kid. :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous blog you have! Stopping by from SITS ♥ Tori
Wow, that's wonderful. I always appreciate it when young people are witty in a good way. :) Hi from SITS!
ReplyDeleteThat is halarious! WHat a whitty kid you have there!:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a quick thinking 'W' :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I was bummed when my parents put their foot down on sleep-overs, but looking back I can see why.
Ha, Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha that cracked me up. I think he must take after his mother with those witty come backs.
ReplyDeleteOk that was holarious. I don't know how you could have kept a straight face. I think he takes after his mother. I guess I am a softy and still let my kids have sleep overs. They don't get crabby I guess that is why they are still aloud to.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny.
ReplyDeleteI too am impressed with W's understanding of the words he so dutifully memorized. For that he deserves one sleepover so when he comes home ornery he can be punished for his own sins and he won't have to rely on T's.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who always made her kids pay a "cranky deposit" out of their allowance before a sleepover. If they came back cranky, mom and dad kept the dough. If they were delightful and helpful, they got their money back. Smart folks--too bad I could never remember to get the money from my kids before they walked out the door...
ReplyDeleteThat was clever of W. We don't allow sleep overs at all which rule has gotten us some crabby responses of its own -- but I still like the rule.
ReplyDeleteHahaha...soo funny! Thinking quick on his feet!
ReplyDeleteOh that is gooooooooood!
ReplyDeleteWay to go W.!
Sounds like a future missionary to me!
ReplyDeleteSo funny!
Thank you for stopping by on my SITS day last week. I appreciated all the bloggy love! Sorry I'm so long in returning the favor!!!
ReplyDeleteLove kids!
