So yesterday - my dear sweet spouse took all the kids for an evening hike (after they did their own chores... with a little prodding and pushing) while I finished washing and folding all the laundry, straightening up my scrapbook room, and going through the "trash stash" - which is what I affectionately call the pile of important papers that resides next to my bedside table... usually they're not as important by the time I get around to them as they were when they went into the pile.
It's far from perfect - and no, I didn't take any before and after pictures - but it was a nice relaxing evening getting things done that stayed done... until of course the children came home and took their Saturday night showers - I now have a load of towels and a load of hiking clothes all waiting to be washed. I love that they all came home exhausted - straight to bed! They'll be waking up soon though, so I'm enjoying the last few minutes of peace, quiet, and clean!

I have several of my own 'trash stash'es that need a good going through, especially after the first week of school.
Good job to Q for taking the kiddos and good job to you for not just watching the Olympics while they were gone. (aren't you relieved that they are over so our evenings can be productive again?
I like the catchy name of your "trash stashes". Mine is just "the stuff by the phone" or "the pile in the office" or something otherwise uncreative. I might borrow your name. I also am impressed that you worked while Q was gone with the kids. I'm all about naps today -- but I would have worked yesterday I guess. In fact I did. Pat myself on the back -- and you too.
Ahhhhh, that beloved pile of papers. So many times I've found that "one paper" I've been looking for long after I needed it in that stash. We are currently working on a new pile since Ben recently cleared out our last one. Good job getting through all that!
Love that trash stash.
Way to go on the organizing!
You should have just put in a favorite dvd and enjoyed the silence! Wouldn't that be great if we could do that instead of all the special chores we have? Or maybe half and half for balance.
