the family reunion starts tomorrow...
I should mention that this is a GOOD thing - really, we always have lots of fun. It's amazing to me that we can pack 66 people into one home for fun and games - and there are no Jerry Springer moments!
The reunion has always happened on the same week each July - to coincide with M.I.L.'s birthday partly - but mostly because it's a good time to plan for because M.I.L. doesn't every let us make a big deal out of her special day!!
The Problem? Okay - the first of the problems...
Harry Potter books have been released on that same week - TWICE - so I tend to be an anti-social aunt. I've read and hiked, read and bowled, read and gone out to lunch... The movies tend to have the same release date - what's with that?
I'm being good and waiting... all the way 'til Monday - so SHHHHhhh, please don't tell me you hated it/loved it/were disappointed by X or thrilled by Y... I really don't want to know. It's killing me!!!
Which brings me to my second problem with the scheduling...
The Neil Simon Festival always starts that same time... which (because my uncle is HIGHLY involved with the festival) brings relatives to town... which means I come home from the reunion to a houseful of folks... including my mother whose birthday is right on the heels of M.I.L.'s birthday... which THIS year - means that it will be HER special day I'm ignoring if I zone into Harry Potter Land...
Yes, I'm a little obsessed - I won't go into detail, but I have been known to take a few notes while reading... and maybe I HAVE made a chart of the characters and their relationship to eachother... but On My Honor - it won't get in the way of my REAL relationships anymore!!!

GOOOOOOOD LUCK with all that planning!!!!!!!! and have fun with your family :)
Wow---have fun?
I've never read/seen HP, but I hope you can handle the wait while you're with family:)
I love that you take notes and make charts! I've only seen a few of the movies because my husband likes them.
I'm shocked at Barbaloot's comment - is she culturally dead inside?? Harry Potter is the new... well, I don't what, but Harry Potter rocks.
I'm going to see the movie Friday night if I can coerce someone into getting paid to watch a movie while my kids sleep. Shouldn't be too hard. (And don't worry, I'll keep my trap shut!)
Charts? I really hope you were being sarcastic...
I think charts are good. I totally feel your pain. Two years ago, my summer was so scheduled that I never got to see the movie until it came out on video. I was seriously annoyed.
What about a midnight showing? It might be worth sacrificing some sleep over.
Good luck with all the fun.
I need you to print off a chart for me! I often just brush over a character if I don't remember them...usually I remember the important part- whether they're good or bad.
hahaha!!! I love that you make charts!!! hahahaha!!! Have fun with the reunion!
too much fun to be had!
I'm just thinking it's usually the hottest week of the year!...at least for us Northerners.
sorry Queen... I'm just a geek that way :)
I DO however use all the notes I take to write up the reviews over at that "Other" blog I do... so I SORT of have an excuse???? right????
oh and Barb... seriously - I KNOW that they're kid books, I KNOW that sometimes the "big thing" isn't all it's hyped up to be... but I loved these... really truly Loved them all!
well have fun on your family reunion. I laugh about you and Harry Potter. I will be the last to see it I am sure. Have fun
So, first of all, I'll go with you on Monday. ;)
Secondly... would you please read all of the Wheel of Time books and make charts for me, so that I am ready when #12 comes out soon (I think it is #12 with the prequel, but could be #11... see how much I need a chart??)
someone already did all the work for the Wheel of Time - and is making $ off of it since it's a published book - so I think I'll skip that one!
