Pride is of the devil...

and yet... how could I not be proud of my little girl... for so many reasons really - but this photo was taken on the occasion of her baptism (just over two weeks ago now... I know, I'm slow to post)

you see, in our church a child is given the opportunity at age eight to be baptized into the religion. I have met people who think that this is far too old... and others who think it is far too young. Me? I think it's just right - because my eight year old little wonder knows so much about the tenets of our religion and she certainly knows how to choose between good and evil (and only occasionally does she opt for the later... evil grins mostly).

See the pride in my eyes? See my little H just reveling in all of the attention. See ManOfTheHouse (who just celebrated a birthday this week!) trying to give a "natural" smile? I'm proud of us all. Proud of me because I didn't fall apart too much. Proud of H because she's an amazing little person. and Proud of M.O.T.H. because he is a great Dad who was able to baptize his princess...

I think you're allowed to be proud of other people. It's just yourself you gotta watch out for, right?

Congrats to H and her awesome parents:)

That is just precious, and I agree...it is a moment to be proud. Proud of her for making the decision and proud of yourself for raising a child to know right from wrong/good vs. evil. Parenting is hard (that's why I don't do it!)

Oh, that is the cutest photo. You look fantastic. And she looks just like YOU. But just like your hub. But your hub looks just like you too!

No wonder you couldn't come to the conference.

T I am disappointed in you for not getting your picture taken with Susan Easton Black. She was my stake RS president when I was in a presidency at a BYU student ward. Her knowledge of the prophet Joseph Smith and testimony totally rock. To say nothing of how she has faced the hard knocks of life and come up shining.

I think her life story is one of the first ones I ever heard of things not turning out perfectly. It was good at 21 to realize that life would not just be a fairy tale all the time.

Congrats on the baptism. She is adorable.
