Enough about the psychosomatic itching already!

I don't mean YOUR itching - I meant MINE of course...  I can't read anymore about it - and somehow despite my newfound ability to laugh about troubling times... I can't bear to leave that post up there representing my family while we go out of town for the weekend - SOOOooo, I need a new post.

Problem:  I've got nothin' - zilch, nada, zippo, bupkis! My brain is exhausted from making some quick Halloween costumes (gotta have 'em for the party tomorrow - as a matter of fact, we've still gotta go run over some stuffed animals for W's costume - he's going as RoadKill)

I could tell you all about the fun plans that we have in store for the weekend, but that would pretty much be a spoiler because I fully intend to take lots of pictures at the museum, the B&B, the sister luncheon, the wonderful craft, the party, and of the cute little new cousin!  You'll hear all about it next week...

So how about this?  A question:  how dressed up do you get to run errands?  I've seen people in fuzzy slippers and their nightgowns at Albertson's in the wee morning hours - and we won't mention some of the atrocities I've seen at WalMart...  was that YOU?  I personally don't think I should have to do my hair or my make-up to run a quick errand, but I do think that certain standards of decency should be followed...  and then today - about 45 minutes ago to be precise, I had need of some hair clips which can only be found at Sally Beauty Supply...

Judging by the looks I got from the people at Sally - maybe I should have rethought my stand on hair and make-up to walk into a beauty supply place.  I'm pretty sure they wanted to pounce on me and do a makeover!   So, is "slumming" it okay - is it just me running around and scaring the world with my natural skin showing?  I know the ladies who work there have to look all nice, but I don't see any reason why I should spend twenty minutes getting ready to spend 5 minutes in a store!

Okay - I guess my "nothing" post became "something" after all... discuss amongst yourselves - I'll be back Monday with lots of photos to share!

looking forward to the posts next week!! And no, I dont think you need to get all "gussied up" to run out for five minutes. Appropriate clothing, clean appearance will be just fine. No need for full on hair and make up. My personal opinoin. :)

Hmm...I usually brush my teeth...and for Target I'll put on a bra. Otherwise they get whatever I'm wearing.

My inlaws wear heels.

If it was my grandmother going out she wouldn't get caught dead in a sweatsuit out in public. As for me I have gone out many times just in my PJ's. I am not there to impress anyone and don't care what they think. I like to be comfortable.

I believe people should be 'presentable'. By that I mean, at least fix your hair and wear some sort of decent clothing. I see women all the time that look like they crawled straight out of bed to go to the store and that's not cool to me. I agree that full makeup and all is not a necessity, but a little decency goes a long way :D

Well I know college kids and high schoolers now adays purposely put on their pj's and slippers to go to the store. So maybe you are just hip and happenen. Also I read your previous post and I think it would be completely stressful. I can't imagine all of the laundry. Glad it's over for you.

I put on a bra and clothes. Nothing fancy.

Now a beauty supply place is different. You can wear not-so-fancy clothes but you have to wear makeup.

HOpe you have a fun weekend. I usually always have make-up on but other than that I'm usually in t-shirt and sweatpants with my hair pulled back in a pony tail.

Mosst days I just let the girls fly...if you know what I mean. Today I went to Wally world in a stained shirt. It was awesome! Be free!

I go for the 'slumming' look a lot! While I'd love to be one of those glam girls running errands, that just doesn't seem to be how my errands fit into my life!

Hi, thanks for visiting me down under on blogathon day.

I don't get dressed up for errands, if my hair is having a bad day, I just throw on a hat.

Doesn't everybody still put on heels and a dress and fresh coat of lipstick when their husband comes home? Why would a trip to the produce aisle be any different?

I once watched an episode of Oprah posing this very question. I will never forget that one women doesn't even take her trash out without full make-up on!! They challenged the women to wear no make-up for a week, the one lady cheated and sucked on red lollipops to give her lips color, because she just couldn't wear makeup:D As for me, Saturdays are usually my errand day, and I pull my hair in a pony with Thursdays and sometimes Friday's hairspray still plastered in it! If it really looks yucky, then I pull on a ball cap. I always wear a bra, I have to with big boobs! As for make-up a little:D

I cannot tell you how many times I will catch my reflection in the mirror and be horrified! Sigh - one day - more time for me! :)

Depends on the morning I'm having. If I have LOTS of energy (hardly ever) I will not only put a cute shirt on, I'll actually throw some makeup on. lol If not, hair in a pony and off I go! ;-)

Oh gosh-I know you're supposed to at least look presentable when you go out to run errands-but sometimes I just don't wanna! (Imagine me stamping my foot as I say that.) Inevitably the days I go out looking like a homeless creature I run into someone I know...

Usually before I leave the house I get a not-so-subtle hint from my dad: "You're not leaving the house like that are you?"

haha - barbaloot reminded me of the time (when I was 16) and I had left the house looking awful (because I was on the way to the doctor's office - ended up in the hospital by that evening) and ran into a convenience store to use the bathroom (I was REALLY sick) and as I'm leaving the bathroom I nearly trip over an ex-boyfriend... ugh, I think he was extremely glad to have dumped me at that moment :)

I figure if I put on a bra and shoes...I AM DRESSED UP! And I am laughing at the "road kill" costume. That has to be the funniest concept I've heard. And I truly thinnk thats the first time I've ever heard anyone say..."I have to go run over a stuffed animal". You HAVE to show us the pictures when he gets dressed up!

Road kill sounds like a pretty fun costum.
I do not get all dressed up especially on the weekends. I bearly look good during the work week. My attempt to look decent is half hazard to say the least.

When I wear make-up people don't know who I am. ha.ha. I think we should do whatever we need to do to feel good about ourselves when we go out running errands, and just try not care what anybody else thinks! Everyone has those days where you just need big dark glasses and a baseball cap!
