Growing up I had a dear friend... we'll call him "Brian" - 'cause that's his name. Brian and I were not romantically linked in any way shape or form - really. It IS possible. (I have to include this for ManOfTheHouse's comfort... and just in case Brian or any of his relatives happen by... could happen)
Brian and I talked pretty much daily. about what? yeah - probably a whole lot of nothing... he called once to find out how to start his own laundry because his mother wasn't home. Yeah, he was a bit of a chauvenist pig. Maybe that's what I liked about him the most?
The NUMBER ONE piece of Brian advice I remember from all those conversations - as he repeatedly expounded to his mother when she came down to limit the volume on his radio... "If it's too loud - you're too old"
Last night ManOfTheHouse took me to a Styx concert - and it's official - I'm too old.
Or maybe Styx just Stynx?

Bwahahaha! I am officially too old as well! What are ya gonna do?
I've always been too old. I sit in movie theaters with my ears plugged, too. I should be embarrassed, just as my children are to be seen with me...but I'm not. Part of the blessing of being too old.
No, I had no idea that Styx was even playing anymore. I have to admit, I sure do love some of their older tunes. Sorry the concert was a bust!
Hopefully nobody spent real money on those tickets. Or maybe he enjoyed it enough for the price of two tix??
HAHAHAHAHA! I said the same thing when we went to go see Bon Jovi a couple years ago! I was like "This is fun, but, geez, why does it have to be so loud!"
The best part? I was 25.
I don't know. The other day my mom picked me up and when I walked outside her radio was blaring, BLARING, Michael Buble. I told her it was worse than the teenagers you are next to at stop lights. And I don't think I'm too old...maybe I am.
I must be too old too. Cause that concert at CBC was somewhat loud for me too...
*sigh*
What do you do?
Well now, it depends on what it is that's too loud...OK, I'll give you Styx but if Neil Diamond was playing, baby it couldn't be loud enough! HA!!
So by admitting that I'm a Neil Diamond fan just really dated me!
I guess I am old after all!!
I don't think you're too old...it's just your hearing is now like the Bionic Woman's to better hear what your kids are up to. See. Not too old :)
LOL!! That's a BUMMER!! Were the tix pricey?? I frequently can't handle things too loud, either.
Alexes: If it makes you feel better, I had to leave a few songs into Cameron Raferty singing because my headache was going migraine... I liked him... just too loud... YEP, Tonya... it's official! I'm OLD!!
That's too bad! We went to the last Styx concert they had there and loved it! I also enjoyed a good chuckle at all the hometown heroes that hadn't quite given up that era. Sorry you didn't enjoy it.
haha! I was just thinking this last week as I reached over and turned down the radio dial in the car!!!
I feel a post coming on.
Thank you for the commentluv on LBS today. I had no idea, and woke up to this...so a pretty nice surprise...
Hope you get a day, too, I just kept commenting every day, liek they said,
Glad I already knew you! and thank you..
And THAT is why I am having withdrawls! Lunch soon!
I think it is okay to be too old for some things :)
That's too bad. Although I think I was born too old. Oh well...
I find it strange that things get too loud the older we get, but it's definitely true. By the way, I chose the Key Lime Pie gum too. The whole concept seems "interesting" to me...gotta wonder how it's going to taste :) Thanks for taking the time to comment about it!
Blessings,
Stephanie

ROFL - I think I'm gettin old too, it can't be that STYX Stinks!
Hubby still likes it loud though... sigh
congrats on winning the @notgoingtoblogher tote !!!
LOL! I LOVE the loud boom of the bass in my chest at a good concert, but that being said, I haven't been to a concert in a l-o-n-g time. I might be too old too, by now.... But I'm not admitting that yet! :) (besides that fact that my word verification to post this comment is "gizers"...)
Look at you guys doin the concert scene. Are they coming to our town?
